Tomah man faces attempted homicide charge after weekend stabbing incident

TOMAH, Wis. – Tomah police report a Tomah man is facing numerous charges including attempted homicide following an altercation at a residence that resulted in another man suffering what appeared to be a stab wound in the chest.

A report from Tomah Police states that on the evening of April 26, at approximately 9:15 .m., Tomah Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Dogwood Lane for a physical disturbance between two adult males who live together. The report states that the suspect, 51-year-old Edwin J. Ross, fled prior to the arrival of law enforcement. The victim suffered injuries to his face, and a suspected stab wound to his chest. The victim was treated at the Tomah Health Emergency Department and released.

The report goes on to say that on April 27, Ross was located in Black River Falls by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and taken into custody without incident and was transported to Tomah, interviewed, and is currently being held in the Monroe County Jail.

The following criminal charges are being recommended to the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office (All charges are domestic violence related):

  • 1st Degree Intentional Homicide – Attempted
  • – Reckless Injury
  • – Aggravated Battery
  • – Battery
  • – Disorderly Conduct
