Swimming accident under investigation in Wauzeka

WAUZEKA, Wis. — A 16-year-old male was airlifted Saturday night following a swimming accident at a residence on Hummingbird Lane, according to Crawford County Sheriff Dale McCullick.

Emergency crews were dispatched at approximately 9:42 p.m. after the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the incident. Law enforcement, fire, and medical personnel responded and provided immediate care at the scene.

Due to the severity of the injuries, a landing zone was established and the juvenile was transported by air for further treatment.

Responding agencies included the Wauzeka Fire Department, Wauzeka First Responders, Boscobel EMS, Gundersen Ambulance, and Gundersen Air.

The incident remains under investigation.
