McIntosh Memorial Library, in partnership with Vernon County Over 50, invites the community to a Norway travelogue presentation with Courtney Havel, director of the Bethel Foundation, on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at 2:15 p.m. The program will be held in the library lobby.

The Bethel Foundation is a Viroqua-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports Bethel Home & Services and its continuum of care, which includes the Bethel Butikk Food Pantry, Thrift Shop and Mission Assistance in Westby.
The Norway Tour has historically served as a way for the Foundation to honor the Norwegian heritage of residents in the Driftless Region while raising funds for the Bethel Butikk Food Pantry to purchase food for community members in need. That tradition continued with this year’s tour.
Havel co-led the Norway Tour in June 2025 with Mary Daines, who was instrumental in founding the Bethel Butikk Food Pantry more than 20 years ago. With support from Borton Overseas, a full-service travel company, the pair led the group in exploring Norway via planes, trains, automobiles and ferries.
The 11-day tour focused on Northern Norway and included stops in Trondheim, Bodø, the Lofoten Islands, Tromsø and other destinations.
