SPARTA, Wis. — The Sparta Polcie Department released a statement on Monday that they are searching a man who was charged sex crimes after he removed a GPS bracelet and skipped a court appearance. 53-year-old Ruben Tirado Tirado was set to stand trial on child sex crimes on Monday, Aug. 25, but failed to appear for the trial. A bench warrant was subsequently
issued authorizing his arrest.
Court documents indicate Tirado was being monitored by a GPS device after he was released to
await trial on a $15,000 cash bond. Documents further indicate the device was tampered with and removed on August 23, 2025. It was later located in a ditch. Tirado’s current whereabouts are
unknown.
Tirado is described a medium build, 5′ 8″, and approximately 210 pounds. He has brown eyes and has black hair. Tirado does not have legal immigration status, He has historically worked in agriculture. Tirado is believed to have ties to Mexico, Florida, and Minnesota. He most
recently resided in Sparta, Wis.
Tirado presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. If any member of the public has
