City of Viroqua seeks public input on future planning initiatives

Sept. 7, 2025

VIROQUA, Wis. — The City of Viroqua is inviting residents to help shape the community’s future by participating in a public input session focused on three major planning initiatives: an updated comprehensive plan, a new outdoor recreation plan, and a historic preservation plan.

The session will be held on Tuesday, September 9, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. in the lower-level community room at City Hall. Community members may attend in person or join virtually via Zoom (Meeting ID: 820 4445 6373).

Over the past eight months, city officials have been working to revise the existing comprehensive plan while simultaneously developing the two new plans. These documents are intended to guide Viroqua’s growth, enhance public outdoor spaces, and preserve the city’s historic character.

“The input we receive from residents will be instrumental in shaping the direction of these plans,” said Trina Erickson, Director of McIntosh Memorial Library and Public Information Officer for the City of Viroqua. “We want to ensure the plans reflect the values and vision of the people who live here.”

More information about the planning process and draft materials can be found on the City of Viroqua’s website.

For questions, residents may contact Trina Erickson at (608) 637-7151 Ext. 3 or via email at t.erickson@wrlsweb.org.
