VIROQUA, Wis. (AP) — Viroqua Area Schools announced Wednesday that longtime educator and community advocate Ted Harris will be inducted into the district’s Wall of Excellence later this month.
The ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 27 at 11 a.m. in the Commons of Viroqua High School. A public reception will follow from 12:30 to 3 p.m. at the new Viroqua Fire Station, located at 911 Nelson Parkway.
Harris is being recognized for his decades of service to education and his enduring impact on the Viroqua community. The Wall of Excellence honors individuals who have brought distinction to themselves and the school district through professional achievement, character, and service.
“Ted Harris exemplifies the values we strive to instill in our students,” the Wall of Excellence Committee said in a statement. “His legacy is woven into the fabric of our schools and our town.”
Community members, former colleagues, students, and athletes are invited to attend the ceremony and reception. Light refreshments will be served.
