One vehicle accident near De Soto caused by medical incident

DE SOTO, Wis. – The Vernon County Sheriff Office says it appears a medical incident caused an Iowa man to lose control and go off State Highway 35 on Friday, Aug 1. According to Sheriff Roy Torgerson on Friday, August at approximately 10:45 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office 911 Dispatch Center was notified of a single-vehicle crash on State Highway 35, north of County Road UU, rural De Soto.

A Sheriff’s report states that 46-year-old Jason Lyle Flynn, of Lansing, Iowa was driving north when it appeared he experienced a medical event. The vehicle went off the left side of the roadway in a curve and came to rest in the ditch.

Flynn did not report any injuries. He was not transported to the hospital. Flynn was wearing a seat belt, and no airbags deployed.

Assisting the Sheriff’s Office at the scene were the Wheatland Fire Department, Wheatland First Responders, and Gundersen Tri-State Ambulance.
