April 9,2025

RICHLAND CENTER, Wis. – Richland County Sheriff Porter says a 60-year-old woman from Richland Center showed up for court intoxicated, was arrested, and was later arrested after getting in her vehicle to drive again.

A report from the Sheriff states that on Tuesday, April 8, at approximately 10:35 a.m., a Deputy of the Richland County Sheriff’s Office was made aware by court security staff that Julie Arbegust had shown up to the courtroom and was possibly under the influence. The Deputy located her vehicle in the parking lot of the courthouse and then proceeded to make contact with her in the courtroom. It was determined that Julie had driven to the Courthouse and showed signs of drug impairment. Arbegust was placed under arrest for operating while under the influence third offense.

Arbegust was booked into the Richland County Jail and then released to a responsible party. Immediately after her release, she was seen getting into the driver’s seat of her vehicle and leaving the Courthouse. The Deputy located Arbegust and placed her under arrest a 2nd time for operating while under the influence third offense, as well as misdemeanor bail jumping.
