The Viroqua Fire Department was able to quickly extinguish a fire above some apartments at downtown business early Thursday afternoon. Viroqua Fire Chief Chad Buros said they were called to what appeared to be an electrical fire in an attic area in the apartments above Rockweilers Applliance on Main Street.
Buros said there was not a lot of fire damage but there was enough damage from smoke and water that at least one apartment would not be usable for some time. At least one tenant was displaced due to the fire. Buros said the call came from an electrician working in the building.
The Westby and Viola fire departments also responded to assist Viroqua.
