VIROQUA, Wis. — Organizers of the Viroqua Harvest Parade say everyone is invited to participate in the parade which takes place on Saturday, September 27, starting at 3 p.m. The purpose of the parade is to celebrate community, art, and the harvest season.
The parade is a human-powered, handmade, large-scale puppet parade and is open to all ages to either be in the parade or watch it. Kids and adults who wish to be in the parade can either prepare their own harvest themed costumes at home, attend the community puppet build the weekend of September 13 and 14, or come to a costume sign up at WDRT on Thursday September 25 from 2:30 p.m. -5 p.m. Anyone who will be in the parade should come to the parade lineup at the playground of Pleasant Ridge Waldorf School on parade day, September 27, by 2 p.m.
This year’s parade route will leave Pleasant Ridge Waldorf School via Jefferson, head straight to Main Street, north on Main, west on Court Street and into Eckhart Park. The celebration then continues at the park with a variety of musical performances, food vendors, and concludes with a DJ dance party.
