READSTOWN, Wis. — According to a report from the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office a 77-year-old woman was seriously injured Monday afternoon after she was struck by a pickup truck on a private driveway in rural Vernon County.

The incident was reported around 4:45 p.m. June 15 on a driveway off Strawberry Lane in the Town of Kickapoo, according to Vernon County Sheriff Roy Torgerson.

The Sheriff’s report states that Donald Frank Goldade, 79, of Lone Rock, was driving a pickup and had stopped to allow his passenger, Judith Ann Goldade, also of Lone Rock, to exit the vehicle, the sheriff’s office said. As he began reversing, the truck struck Judith Goldade on the right side. The report goes on to say Judith suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Gundersen Health System in La Crosse by GundersenAIR.

Emergency responders from the Readstown Ambulance, Readstown Fire Department and the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.
