Wisconsin DOT to hold public information meeting in La Farge on upcoming State Highway 82 project

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is holding a public information meeting to discuss improvements on State Hwy. 82 from State Hwy. 56 to La Farge in Vernon County.

The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 9, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the La Farge Community Center, 202 N. State St., La Farge. The objective of this meeting is to familiarize the public with the purpose and need for the project and to obtain input on the proposed improvements.

WisDOT plans to replace three box culverts and the roadway approaches on Hwy. 82 between Hwy. 56 and La Farge. Hwy. 82 will be closed and detoured during construction. Construction is scheduled for 2028.

Citizens who are deaf or hard of hearing and require an interpreter may request one by contacting Nathan Schumaker at least three working days prior to the meeting.

Adjacent property owners are encouraged to attend the meeting. Project overview

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) plans to replace three box culverts on WIS 82, between the WIS 56 / WIS 82 intersection and La Farge in Vernon County. The box culverts need replacement because of their age and condition. Improvements include:

• Box Culvert replacements (x3)
• Replace roadway approaches to box culverts
