WESTBY, Wis. — A 42-year-old Westby man was arrested last month after authorities executed a search warrant at a residence on Sunflower Street, leading to multiple felony charges related to drugs and firearms, Vernon County officials said Wednesday.

Adrian D. L. Thomas was taken into custody on the morning of August 14 following a coordinated operation involving the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office, Westby Police Department, and several assisting agencies. Thomas was booked into the Vernon County Detention Center and appeared in circuit court the next day, where Judge Timothy J. Gaskell set bond at $50,000 cash.

On August 22, Vernon County District Attorney Angela Palmer-Fisher formally charged Thomas with four offenses: possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of cocaine with intent to deliver (between 5 and 15 grams), possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver (between 10 and 50 grams), and possession of drug paraphernalia. All charges include a repeat offender enhancement under Wisconsin law.

A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Wednesday in Vernon County Circuit Court.

The investigation was supported by the La Crosse, La Farge, and Cashton police departments, as well as the Vernon County Department of Human Services. The Sheriff’s Office is a member of the West Central Metropolitan Enforcement Group, a six-county drug task force.

Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 608-637-TIPS or submit a tip online at www.p3tips.com.
