READSTOWN, Wis. — Vernon County Sheriff Roy Torgerson reported a single‑vehicle crash Tuesday evening, Feb. 24, 2026, on Kolstad Road near Tigen Road in the Town of Franklin.

The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office 911 Dispatch Center was notified of the crash at approximately 5:45 p.m. Linda L. Nederlo, 86, of rural Viroqua, was driving west on Kolstad Road when the vehicle encountered ice, left the roadway and struck a tree.

Nederlo was transported to Vernon Health in Viroqua by Readstown Emergency Medical Service. She was wearing a seat belt, and the vehicle’s airbags deployed.

Assisting the Sheriff’s Office at the scene were the Viroqua Fire Department, Viroqua Emergency Medical Responders and Readstown Emergency Medical Service.
