VIROQUA, Wis. – The Viroqua Police Department is reporting the arrest of a 37-year-old Viroqua woman on drug related charges and violating conditions of bond following a traffic stop.
A police department report states that on Monday, March 3, at approximately 6:53 p.m., a Viroqua Police Officer conducted a traffic stop in the city of Viroqua and identified Melinda S. Stalsberg of Viroqua as the driver. The report goes on to say during the traffic stop officers were made aware that Stalsberg was in possession of drug paraphernalia, in violation of her bond conditions from a previous traffic stop on Feb. 3, 2025.
The report also states that K-9 Hazik was utilized and alerted to the presence of one or more controlled substances inside the vehicle. Upon a search of Stalsberg’s vehicle officers located methamphetamine, suspected fentanyl, prescription pills, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Subsequently Stalsberg was arrested and transported to the Vernon County Jail and faces charges of bail jumping, possession of fentanyl, possession of methamphetamine, possess/illegally obtain prescription, possession of THC and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Stalsberg is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
