VIROQUA, Wis. – Vernon County Sheriff Roy Torgerson reports a single-vehicle crash occurred early Sunday morning, July 14, 2024, in rural Viroqua, in the town of Viroqua.
The Sheriff’s Office says at approximately 2:00 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office 911 Dispatch Center was notified of the crash. The Sheriff’s report states that Colton William Anderson, 20, of rural Viroqua, was driving south on State Highway 82 and went through the intersection of State Highway 56 and crossed both the west and eastbound lanes. The vehicle then went off the south side of Highway 56, traveled down an embankment into the parking lot of Sheldon’s Auto Wrecking and struck a fence and a gate.
Anderson did not report any injuries, but his passenger, Triston Alan Necollins, 20, also of Viroqua, was injured and transported to Vernon Memorial Healthcare in Viroqua by Gundersen Tri-State Ambulance.
Responding to the scene with the Sheriff’s Office were the Viroqua Fire Department, Viroqua Emergency Medical Responders, and Gundersen Tri-State Ambulance.
The incident remains under investigation by the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office.
