Viroqua man arrested in Crawford County on drug related charges after vehicle pursuit, traffic stop

SOLDIERS GROVE, Wis. – On Thursday, July 11th, 2024, Sheriff Dale McCullick reports that the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit (Diego) attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a pickup truck, however, the driver refused to comply, and a pursuit ensued in the Village of Soldiers Grove.

During the pursuit, the driver tossed drug related items out of the truck and stopped shortly thereafter. The driver was later identified as 36-year-old Dustin Volden of Viroqua. Volden was arrested and transported to the Crawford County Jail on charges of felony eluding an officer, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a restricted controlled substance.

The Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit was assisted by the Wisconsin State Patrol, Vernon County Sheriff’s Office, and Milo’s Towing Service.
