VIROQUA, Wis. – The McIntosh Memorial Library of Viroqua in partnership with Valley Stewardship Network will host a program titled Counting Winter Birds: Turning Your Backyard into an Ornithological Observatory. The program is scheduled for Tuesday, February 13 from 3:45-4:45 in the library lobby.

Ben Johnston from Valley Stewardship Network will present information on how to identify and count birds at your backyard bird feeder. Plus, information on ways to improve backyard bird feeding stations will also be shared.

This program will help attendees gain skills so they may participate in the worldwide initiative titled The Great Backyard Bird Count scheduled for February 16 – 19, 2024. The presentation is great for children and families. People of all ages are welcome. Registration isn’t necessary.
