Viroqua Fire Department responds to house fire on Williams Street

VIROQUA, Wis. – Viroqua Fire Chief Chad Buros reports that the Viroqua Fire Department responded on Tuesday, January 16 at 3:01 p.m. to 807 Williams Street in the City of Viroqua for a report of a fire in a clothes dryer.

Upon the department’s arrival, smoke was visible coming from the structure. The fire was brought under control quickly and extinguished. There was smoke damage to the whole structure and fire damage to the area of origin and a bedroom.

The department cleared at approximately 5:45 p.m.. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. The origin and cause of the fire is under investigation.
