Viroqua Community Theatre announces 2026-2027 performance season lineup

March 26, 2026

VIROQUA, Wis. — The Viroqua Community Theatre has unveiled its 2026-2027 performance season, featuring a mix of musical comedy, family-friendly shows, and a showcase of local talent.

“We’re thrilled to unveil a year of storytelling, creativity, and community connection,” the organization said in its announcement, adding that the upcoming season offers something for “every age, every family, and every theatre-lover”.

The season kicks off this summer with a production of “The Little Mermaid,” hosted in partnership with Viroqua Area Schools and the Missoula Children’s Theatre. Young performers will participate in a week-long residency and workshop from July 6-11, culminating in a full production performance on July 11 at Viroqua Elementary.

Later in the month, the theater will present the cult-favorite musical comedy “Little Shop of Horrors” at the Landmark Center Theatre. The show, described by the theater as a “quirky, campy, and delightfully dark tale of love, ambition, and one very hungry plant,” will run for two weekends on July 24-26, July 31, and Aug. 1-2.

For the winter and holiday season, the theater will stage “The Snow” at the Landmark Center Theatre, with performances scheduled for Dec. 4-6 and Dec. 11-13. The production is billed as a cozy and imaginative “magical winter story for the whole family”.

The 2026-2027 season will conclude the following year with a Variety Show on Feb. 19-20, 2027, also held at the Landmark Center Theatre. The event is designed as a celebration of local talent, taking center stage with music, comedy, dance, storytelling, and other surprises.

Full production details, audition materials, and ticket sales for the new season will be made available soon.

The Viroqua Community Theatre, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2007, operates with a mission to provide opportunities for dramatic expression and create “one community through the arts”. The theater welcomes participation from community members of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels throughout the Driftless region.
