Viroqua Chamber hires new executive director

Viroqua Chamber Executive Director Chris Clemens announced over the summer that he would be stepping down as of Sept. 1. That caused the the Viroqua Chamber Board of Directors to conduct a search for his replacement and this week they announced Reichert will replace Clemens, who held the position since 2021.

According a letter the board of directors emailed to Chamber members and the community on Sept. 6.to the Chamber, Reichert is originally from a ranch in rural South Dakota, and has recently moved to the area.

The letter goes on to say prior to her arrival in our area, Reichert was a business project manager at the Nebraska Department of Economic Development, where she managed the Site and Building Development Fund grant program. She also led various business recruitment projects for the State of Nebraska. She also previously served as a utility analyst at the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission, where she worked on dockets related to telecommunications, electricity and natural gas.

Reichert has a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of South Dakota, which included a year abroad at the Otaru University of Commerce in Otaru, Hokkaido, Japan.

“Lorena is excited to be a part of Viroqua’s vibrant community and looks forward to promoting the area’s local shops, outdoor activities, and unique community events,” the board of directors wrote in the email. “She would also like to thank the outgoing Executive Director, Chris Clemens, for his many years of service to the Viroqua Chamber!”
