Sept. 24, 2026

VIROQUA, Wis — Area residents looking to make a lasting difference in their community while optimizing their financial planning are invited to a free lunch-and-learn event on local charitable giving options. Sponsored by the Viroqua Area Foundation, the event will take place at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Thursday, Oct. 8, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and features a complimentary lunch catered by The Noble Rind.

Whether attendees are just beginning to explore local giving options or seeking to expand an established philanthropic legacy, the session is designed to offer practical guidance on modern charitable giving tools. Featured speaker Ben Chera, Sales Vice-President at Lincoln Financial, will present on topics including Donor Advised Funds, unrestricted and restricted gifts, and Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs). Participants will gain a better understanding of how these strategic giving methods can help individuals save in retirement while maximizing their positive impact on the local community.

The upcoming event aligns with the core mission of the Viroqua Area Foundation, which works to encourage and promote worthwhile charitable enterprise throughout the greater Viroqua area. By providing personal, tailored approaches to giving, the Foundation assists individuals and local businesses in investing in quality-of-life improvements for present and future generations.
