Viola man extricated from dump truck that overturned on private property

LA FARGE, Wis. – Vernon County Sheriff Roy Torgerson reports that a La Farge man needed to be extricated from his vehicle on July 9 when the dump truck he was driving rolled over on private property.

Sheriff Torgerson reports that on Tuesday, July 9, at approximately 11:00 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office 911 Dispatch Center was notified that a dump truck overturned on private property, in the town of Union.  According to the report Carl Henry Haugrud, 63, of rural Viola, Wis. was operating a dump truck in rural La Farge and attempting to unload gravel.  While traveling uphill and rounding a curve to the right, the dump truck tipped over and came to rest on its right (passenger) side.  Haugrud was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured, but needed to be extricated from the vehicle by the La Farge Fire Department. Assisting the Sheriff’s Office were the La Farge Fire Department and La Farge Area Ambulance.
