VIDEO: Police seeking help locating Westby man suspected of crashing car into a Viroqua business earlier this week

WESTBY, Wis. – The Westby Police Department is asking for the public’s help locating Corey Simonson of Westby.

Police say Simonson is a 49-year-old white man. He is around 6′1″ and 180 pounds. They believe Simonson took his mother’s car, a maroon 2007 Chevrolet Equinox with the license plate AEF6771. The vehicle was entered as stolen.

Simonson is believed to be heading to Minnesota and was last seen in Buffalo County. Anyone with information on Simonson’s location is asked to contact the Westby Police Department at 608-634-4411 or local law enforcement.

As we reported earlier this week Simonson is suspected of crashing a car into a Viroqua Vape Shop and was charged burglary by Viroqua Police.

VIROQUA, Wis. — 49-year-old Corey Simonson of Westby is facing burglary charges after Viroqua Police allege he drove a vehicle into the front of a Viroqua business, and then drove off.

According to the Viroqua Police Department, on Sunday, Dec. 22 they received an alarm alert from Smoke World Vape located on Main Street-State Highway 14. The alarm company advised that an individual just drove a red Mini-Cooper into the front door, and then made entry into the building before driving north on State Highway 14.

The Westby Police Department located the vehicle and detained the driver until Viroqua Police Department arrived. Corey D Simonson, age 49, of Westby/Madison was arrested for burglary to a building or dwelling and criminal damage to property.
