VERNON COUNTY, Wis. – Last year we began our relationship with the Associated Press when they offered their content through their election integrity program. VernonReporter.Com was one of a small group of local news outlets to have access (through our membership in LION Publishers) to AP’s election content and results. Following the success of that project we were invited to be a local newsroom partner through the AP’s Fund For Local Journalism.

We are excited to announce that relationship has been extended through next year. That allows us to give our readers and followers a full array of local, state and national (and even international) content. The Associated Press is a non-profit news organization that has been doing quality journalism since 1846. We are extremely fortunate to build this relationship along with numerous other news organizations and have access to quality content to supplement our local coverage.

With that news we are also launching our end of the year fundraising campaign.

If you believe in local journalism and what we are doing, we need your help. Our end of year fundraising campaign is underway with a goal of $10,000.

We cover the stories no one else is covering.

The news industry has changed dramatically. The old model is broken and we are reinventing that model to bring you the coverage you told us you want.

No paywall. No membership. All free. But gathering information for local stories is time consuming, and a lot of work. It requires going to meetings, and doing the legwork. We would like to do more. More court reporting. More school reporting. That’s where you come in.

Please help if you can. Every donation makes a difference.

Oh, hi there. 👋 We are so glad you found us.

If you like our content maybe you want to sign up for our daily email. It's free and you won't miss any stories. One email a day with two or three top stories. It's like having your own personal newspaper. And we won't overload your inbox. Promise.
