Vernon County to test emergency alert system April 8

Feb. 3, 2026

VIROQUA, Wis. — Vernon County Emergency Management will conduct a system‑wide test of the Everbridge Mass Notification System on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 6 p.m.

Officials say the test is part of an ongoing effort to ensure residents receive timely and accurate information during emergencies.

The Everbridge system delivers critical alerts and instructions through phone calls, text messages, emails and mobile apps. This week’s exercise is only a test, and no action is required from the public. Test phone calls will come from 608‑637‑5399, and residents are encouraged to save the number in their contacts to help ensure alerts are received.

Residents already registered with Everbridge will automatically receive the test message. Those who do not receive the notification and wish to sign up for future alerts may visit the county’s Resident Sign‑In page or contact Vernon County Emergency Management.

Why the test matters:
Emergency Management officials say regular testing helps verify system reliability and ensures the community is prepared to receive urgent information during severe weather, public safety incidents or other emergency situations.
