VIROQUA, Wis. – Vernon County Solid Waste and Recycling facility has announce their fall Household Hazardous Clean Sweep will stake place on Saturday, September 21 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The solid waste department emphasized with this announcement that this event is for Vernon County residents and residential volumes only. Proof of residency may be requested. Business waste and volumes will not be accepted and asked to connect with VEOLIA for proper disposal.
This event is for household hazardous materials only. No garbage, recycling, electronic, or appliance drop-off will be allowed at this time.
Residents are required to please stay in your vehicles and follow traffic through the facility to be unloaded. There is a limit of 200 pounds per household.
There may be a significant wait time for disposal. This material is hazardous and needs to be handled with care and caution.
This is a no fee event brought to you by the Vernon County Solid Waste and Recycling Department and WI DATCP
We will be accepting:
Latex and Oil Based Paints & Stains
Aerosol Cans (full or empty)
Agriculture Chemicals
Poisonous/Toxic Chemicals
Flammable Liquids & Solvents
Other Unlisted Chemicals
We do not accept Prescription Drugs, Ammunition, Explosives, or Radioactive Materials at any time. **Please keep in mind that some chemicals are incompatible with other chemicals and need to be kept separated. All materials should be delivered in their original containers if possible.
