9/21 The Sheriff’s Office received a call about a pickup truck in the ditch along US Highway 14 near Patterson Road. A deputy responded to the location and the driver of the vehicle stated they were attempting to enter the property to demolish an outbuilding. The individual was asked to leave, and attempts were made to contact the landowner.
9/22 The Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report regarding juveniles on Snapchat possibly involving nude photos.
9/22 Dispatch received a call from a citizen regarding concern about a horse. Contact was made with the owner of the horse, and a veterinary appointment will be scheduled. A deputy or a humane officer will be present during the vet visit.
9/22 A resident from the Village of Stoddard called to report that two very large dogs had jumped over their backyard fence and attacked their dog. The caller stated they had been bitten too. The caller and the dog both received medical attention. The owner of the dogs was issued a citation for Dogs Not to Run at Large.
9/23 A sentenced inmate failed to return to jail after being approved to walk to a medical appointment. The individual was located several hours later and returned to the jail. The inmate will face disciplinary consequences. The Sheriff may also request a sentence modification from the court, such as, but not limited to, a revocation of work release privileges under the Huber law.
9/24 A deputy responded to a car versus deer crash on State Highway 56. Airbags deployed, but no injuries were reported. The vehicle was towed due to damage.
9/24 A business in the Village of Stoddard called to report findings of possible drug residue and paraphernalia at their property. The items were collected by an investigator.
9/24 Sheriff’s 911 Dispatch received a report about an accidental vehicle theft involving vehicles of the same make, model and color. The owners of the vehicles were contacted, and the vehicles were switched back to their rightful owners.
9/25 A deputy responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked at the intersection of County Road O and Hunder Coulee Road in the Town of Bergen. The male party appeared to be sleeping in the driver’s seat with the vehicle running. Upon contact, the deputy noted signs of impairment and the odor of intoxicants. The driver was processed for Operating While Under the Influence-4th offense and transported to the Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
