Vernon County Sheriff’s Report for the week ending Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025

11/16  A resident called to report a trespasser at their property located on County Road B near Coon Valley. The resident had also received repeated calls from the individual. Deputies directed the individual to leave and stop all communication. The incident was referred to the Vernon County District Attorney for possible trespassing charges.

11/17  Deputies responded to Everson Road in the Town of Viroqua for a welfare check.

11/17  Trail cam photos showed a male trespassing on property near Reads Creek in the Town of Kickapoo. The male was identified and cited due to repeated incidents of trespassing there and was told not to return.

11/17  A deputy initiated a traffic stop at US Highway 14 and Cut-a-Cross Road in the Town of Coon. The driver was cited for speeding 85 mph in a 55 mph zone.

11/19  Sheriff’s Dispatch received an automated crash detection warning on County Road C in the Town of Greenwood. When contacted, the female driver initially stated there was no emergency, but then reported having struck some mailboxes and the vehicle had rolled over in the ditch. A deputy responded. No injuries reported and the vehicle was towed.

11/20  Various neighbors reported incessant dog barking at a residence on Lien Street in the Village of Coon Valley. So far, contact with the owner has not been possible.

11/21  A resident on Thompson Road in the Town of Stark called to report an ongoing issue with a neighbor’s cattle loose on their property.

11/21  Sheriff’s Dispatch received a call regarding children walking in the road on County Road D in the Town of Clinton. The caller explained they had to perform evasive maneuvers to avoid an oncoming car and the children they met on the road after cresting a knoll.

11/21  Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash near County Road B and Miller Road in the Town of Jefferson. One of the drivers left the scene but was later located. No injuries were reported.

11/21  A deputy investigated threats made via Snapchat, TikTok, and phone regarding a previous exchange of money. Investigation is ongoing.

11/22  A deputy spoke with a victim of sextortion. An individual the victim met online threatened to post sensitive photos of them if money was not sent. The victim was advised to stop all communication with the individual and block them on all platforms.
