Sheriff deputies and Hillsboro Police responded to a residence on South Lincoln Street in the Village of Ontario for a domestic incident. A male was taken into custody and transported to the Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
5/5 Sheriff’s 911 Dispatch received multiple complaints regarding a truck hauling rocks along US Highway 14 in the Town of Kickapoo that damaged various vehicles as rocks flew out of the back of the truck. The business associated with the truck was contacted and are aware of the issue and are cooperating with the investigation.
5/5 Sheriff’s 911 Dispatch received a traffic complaint of a speeding vehicle along US Highway 14 in the Town of Kickapoo. A short time later a deputy initiated a traffic stop on the speeding vehicle. The odor of illicit substances was detected. Parties were ultimately released from the scene.
5/6 A male called to report stolen firearms kept on a boat stored at a property on Will Kumlin Road in the Town of Wheatland. The male noted various tools missing as well. Investigation is ongoing.
5/7 Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence on Anderson Ridge Road in the Town of Sterling. A male was taken into custody for Criminal Damage to Property, three counts of Disorderly Conduct, Possession of THC and was transported to the Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
5/7 A deputy responded to County Road W and Willow Road in the Town of Hillsboro for a truck versus cow crash. The cow ran into the passenger side rear of the cab and also damaged the bed. No injuries were reported.
5/8 A deputy initiated a traffic stop on US Highway 14 in the Town of Viroqua. A driver was cited for speeding 85 mph in a 55 mph zone.
5/8 A deputy was dispatched to Little Ridge Road in the Town of Whitestown for a report of theft involving a series of worthless checks. Investigation is ongoing.
5/8 Dispatch received an automated crash notification near Green Hollow Road in the Town of Webster and a deputy was dispatched. A vehicle rolled a number of times and came to a rest in the ditch. Occupants denied injuries or the need for medical assistance. The vehicle was towed from the scene due to disabling damage. 5/9 Sheriff’s 911 dispatch received a report of dirt bikes trespassing on a property on Lovstad Road in the Town of Christiana. A deputy was sent to the area but was unable to locate the dirt bikes or anyone trespassing
