4/27 Vernon County sheriff’s deputies and an officer with the Westby Police Department responded to Snowflake Curve Road in the Town of Christiana for a female reporting she was struck in the head by a male party. Investigation is ongoing.
4/27 A sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to Mt.Tabor Cemetery on County Road V in the Town of Forest. The caretaker reported that an unknown vehicle crashed into the guardrail and damaged some headstones. The investigation is ongoing.
4/28 Dispatch was notified about a young male walking along State Highway 27 in the Town of Franklin who may possibly need help. A deputy responded and gave the young male a ride to his destination.
4/28 A deputy was dispatched to a residence on County Road GG for a complaint of dogs barking incessantly. Citations were issued.
4/29 Sheriff’s deputies and a Westby Police Department officer responded to a business on North Main Street for a burglar alarm. Employees coming into work for the day had inadvertently set off the alarm.
4/30 A Vernon County deputy assisted Coon Valley Police Department with a traffic stop on Central Avenue in the Village of Coon Valley after receiving a traffic complaint. The driver was taken into custody for Operating While Under the Influence, Felony Bail Jumping, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The driver was transported to the Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
5/2 A sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a business on Main Street in the Village of De Soto to investigate a hit and run involving some parked vehicles.
5/3 A deputy conducted a traffic stop near State Highway 35 and Sylvan Glen Road in the Town of Bergen. The driver was cited for speeding 73MPH in a 55MPH zone.
5/3 A deputy responded to the 5300 block of US Highway 14 in the Town of Viroqua for a truck versus turkey collision. The truck had windshield damage, but occupants were uninjured. The turkey was injured and needed to be dispatched by the deputy.
