Vernon County Sheriff’s Report for the week ending Saturday, May 2, 2026

May 4, 2026

4/26     A deputy was notified of a possible protection order violation.  Pursuant to the investigation, an individual violating the order was taken into custody and processed for Felony and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping, Disorderly Conduct, Lewd Lascivious Behavior-Exposure, and Violate/Harassment Restraining Order and transported to the Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.

4/26     Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Pine Hill Road in the Town of Greenwood for a domestic disturbance.

4/27     A deputy was dispatched to a property on Dutch Hollow Road in the Town of Whitestown for a possible missing person. A male left the location prematurely and failed to arrive at a scheduled family get together. He was later located.

4/28     A sheriff’s deputy and Westby Police were called to a residence on Coon Prairie Avenue in the City of Westby for a domestic disturbance.

4/29     A deputy was sent to investigate a report of stolen controlled substance medications from a residence on West Fayette Street in the Village of Readstown.

4/29     A business on Central Avenue in the Village of Coon Valley called to report the suspicious behavior of a male found lying on the ground outside the business and attempting to solicit goods for money. The male left the scene prior to deputy arrival.

4/29     A traffic stop was initiated on State Highway 35 in the Town of Bergen. A driver was cited for speeding 75 mph in a 55 mph zone after having received a warning the week prior for speed violation on a motorcycle.

4/30     A minor two vehicle collision occurred in the roundabout near US Highway 14 and State Highway 27 in the Town of Franklin. No injuries were reported.

4/30     A sheriff’s detective and La Farge Police were called to investigate a report of battery involving juveniles and a knife at a residence on Main Street in the Village of La Farge. Investigation is ongoing.

4/30     A domestic disturbance was reported at a residence on Norwegian Hollow Road in the Town of Jefferson. Deputies cleared the scene for EMS and medical transport was ultimately refused.

5/2        Sheriff’s deputies and Viroqua police responded to Lawrence Ridge Road in the Town of Wheatland for report of a vehicle found idling in the roadway with a female asleep at the wheel. The female displayed other signs of impairment and drug paraphernalia was located during a search of the vehicle. The female was taken into custody for Operating While Under the Influence and transported to the Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
