Vernon County Sheriff’s Report for the week ending Saturday, March 28, 2026

March 30, 2026

3/22 A sheriff’s deputy and an officer with the Viroqua Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence on South Main Street in the City of Viroqua. A female was taken into custody and transported to the Sheriff’s Office Detention Center for Domestic Disorderly Conduct.

3/22 Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance on North Main Street in the Village of Stoddard. Parties had separated prior to deputy arrival.

3/23 A case of trespassing was reported on County Road N in the Town of Sterling. The trespasser left before the deputy’s arrival. Investigation is ongoing.

3/23 A business on South 4th Street in the Village of Readstown called to report a theft. Investigation is ongoing.

3/23 A deputy assisted a homeowner on Shannon Road in the Town of Sterling who found a sick raccoon on their property. The deputy dispatched the animal.

3/24 A sheriff’s deputy along with La Farge Police Department arrived at a residence on South State Street in the Village of La Farge to act on a Department of Corrections warrant for a male in violation of his terms of supervision. The male was taken into custody and transported to the Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.

3/24 Sheriff’s 911 dispatch was notified that a male on County Road U in the Town of Kickapoo was allegedly making threats to harm others with a firearm. The male was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant for contempt of court because of failure to pay fines due to a 2024 conviction for Operate Motor Vehicle While Revoked. The threats investigation continues.

3/26 A concerned citizen called to report a speeding vehicle that almost struck a gas pump at a business near South Commercial Street in the Village of Viola. A deputy located

the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The driver received a citation for Operating While Suspended and another occupant was then required to drive from the stop.

3/26 Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence on East Kickapoo Street in the Village of Readstown.

3/26 A passerby called to report a two vehicle crash near South Main and Division Streets in the Village of Stoddard. Drivers, Tymber Huebner and Colin Bores, both of Stoddard, and their occupants were able to exit the vehicles which sustained minimal damage. No injuries were reported.
