3/16 Sheriff’s deputies along with officers of Viola Police Department responded to a residence in the Village of Viola for a missing juvenile. Kickapoo Valley Rescue Squad and Viola Fire Department were also on standby to assist with the approximate 2-hour search. The juvenile was found safe.
3/16 A deputy responded to State Highway 56 in the Town of Viroqua for a deer that had been struck and was wounded on the side of the road. The deputy dispatched the animal.
3/17 Deputies responded to a residence on County Highway U in the Town of Kickapoo for a domestic disturbance.
3/17 A deputy initiated a traffic stop on West Commercial St in the Village of Viola after passing a vehicle with a shredded back tire that was riding along on its rim. The deputy had cause to believe the driver was impaired and intoxicants were seen in the vehicle. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating While Under the Influence.
3/19 Deputies responded to a one vehicle rollover on US Highway 14 in the Town of Christiana due to slick roads. The driver was initially thought to be pinned in the vehicle but was able to self-extricate and reported no injuries. A deputy transported the driver back home.
3/20 A passerby notified dispatch of a vehicle that struck a deer and was in the ditch on County Road Q in the Town of Greenwood. The deer was fatally wounded, and the car was towed from the scene for disabling damage. The driver reported no injuries.
3/20 Deputies assisted Viroqua Police with a report of an unattended vehicle that was left running in a parking lot on South Main Street in the City of Viroqua.
3/21 A citizen called to report a scam regarding a payment of fees in order to receive a grant from the Diocese in Madison. The caller recognized this as a scam and no personal information or money was provided to the caller.

A total of 32 9-1-1 calls and 107 regular telephone calls were fielded by the Vernon County Dispatch Center including 23 disabled vehicles, 18 property damage crash calls, and 4 injury crash calls.
