3/15 Sheriff’s Dispatch received a call regarding a male who had not returned home after leaving that morning and family had been unable to reach him. Deputies searched the Stoddard area and were unable to locate the male or the white pickup he was known to drive. A ‘Be On the Lookout’ (BOLO) was sent out and surrounding counties were also notified. The male was found later that afternoon on Hunder Coulee Road apparently having slid off the road. No injuries were reported.
3/16 Sheriff’s deputies and an officer with Westby Police responded to a reported road rage incident involving two cars heading toward Westby on US Highway 14 throwing things out the window and passing each other. The vehicles were stopped and found to be occupied by juveniles. Occupants were cited for littering as well as disorderly conduct.
3/18 A traffic stop was initiated on State Highway 35 in the Town of Genoa due to excessive speeds. The driver was cited for traveling 81 mph in a 55 mph zone.
3/18 A homeowner on State Highway 35 in the Town of Bergen reported a vehicle had tipped over their retaining wall and had landed upside down in their driveway. The driver and only occupant was able to self-extricate and appeared to have only a minor hand injury. Stoddard Fire and First Responders, along with Tri-State ambulance assisted at the scene.
3/19 A deputy noticed the door of a business on County Road N in the Town of Sterling was left open. Nothing was suspicious was found and the deputy secured the door.
3/20 Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in the Town of Hamburg. A female left the scene and was later found heading toward La Crosse and transported back to the Sheriff’s Office Detention Center and processed for Domestic Criminal Damage to Property, Disorderly Conduct-Simple Assault, and Battery-Simple Assault.
3/20 A motorist called to report striking a boulder on State Highway 56 in the Town of Genoa. The vehicle was later towed from the scene and no injuries were reported.
3/20 A traffic stop was initiated on State Highway 35 in the Town of Bergen. The odor of drugs was detected. The driver was cited for Operating While Suspended, No Insurance, Possession of THC. Three passengers were also cited for Possession of THC.
3/21 A traffic stop was initiated on South Wagoner Avenue in the Village of Viola. A male was taken into custody and processed for Operating While Under the Influence – 4th Offense and transported to the Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
