3/8 Deputies were dispatched to a business on County Road V in the Town of Forest for a report of theft from a storage unit and disorderly conduct. Investigation is ongoing.
3/8 A traffic stop was initiated on US Highway 14 in the Town of Viroqua for a speeding vehicle. The deputy issued the driver a citation for speeding 85 mph in a 55 mph zone.
3/10 A business on South 4th Street in the Village of Readstown called to report a male involved with a previous theft was again in the business. When deputies arrived, the male had already left but was found at a neighboring business. The male was trespassed from both businesses.
3/11 A business owner on US Highway 14 in the Village of Readstown reported trespassing on their property. It appeared that someone had gained entry to a trailer and was squatting there. A person of interest was later located in the City of Viroqua and admitted to living in the property. The person was arrested for trespassing and transported to the Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
3/12 Deputies arrived at a residence on Hoff Valley Road in the Town of Whitestown where a female was taken into custody on a felony warrant for Failure to Appear and transported to the Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
3/12 A passerby reported a possible truck vs. buggy crash on Dudley Hill Road in the Town of Bergen. On arrival, deputies found a buggy tipped over and the horse pulling it deceased. The passerby reported children in the buggy had left the scene to go to school but that there were no injuries. Stoddard Fire Department was paged to assist at the scene.
3/12 Deputies and officers with the Viroqua Police Department responded to a business on South Rock Avenue in the City of Viroqua for a physical altercation between two males. Conflicting stories of events were received. Investigation is ongoing.
3/13 A panic alarm was tripped at a business on South Main Street in the Village of Chaseburg. On investigation, it was determined to be a false alarm.
3/14 A caller in the Town of Forest made a report of fraud stating that a check had been stolen from them. The amount written on the check was changed and then taken to a bank and cashed. Investigation is ongoing.
