5/31 Sheriff’s Dispatch received report that a female jumped from a moving vehicle near Main Street and Coon Prairie Avenue in the City of Westby. A sheriff’s deputy and an officer with Westby Police Department searched the area for the female. She was later found and uninjured.
5/31 A toddler was found wandering East Main Street in the Village of La Farge. As the area nearby was canvassed, the father of the child showed up and collected the child. La Farge Police were notified.
6/1 Flags placed on veteran gravesites in a cemetery on North Asbury Road in the Town of Viroqua were reportedly broken and stomped into the ground. A similar incident occurred the year prior.
6/2 A motorist called to report striking a deer on US Highway 14 in the Town of Coon. No injuries were reported and the deer was dispatched by the deputy.
6/2 A traffic stop was initiated on US Highway 14 in the Town of Hamburg on a speeding vehicle. Citations were issued for speeding 90 mph in a 55 mph zone as well as reckless driving.
6/3 Dispatch received a report of a tractor striking an electrical pole near Stenslien Lane and Rainbow Road in the Town of Coon. Excel Energy was contacted regarding the damaged pole. The operator and tractor sustained no damage.
6/4 Sheriff’s deputies and Viroqua Police Officers responded to a residence on Railroad Avenue in the City of Viroqua for a domestic incident. A male was arrested for Criminal Damage, Disorderly Conduct, and Resisting or Obstructing an Officer-Simple Assault and transported to the Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
6/5 Sheriff’s deputies and Viroqua Police Officers executed an arrest warrant at a residence on East Decker Street in the City of Viroqua for a failure to abide by conditions of electronic monitoring. A male was transported to the Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
6/6 Dispatch was notified of a disturbance at a residence on West Maple Street in the City of Viroqua. A male was heard yelling and making threats toward the caller’s neighbor. A deputy and a Viroqua Police Officer responded and initially detained the male; he was ultimately released and transported to the home of a nearby family member.
