7/5 A citizen reported a theft on Scenic View Lane in the City of Westby. The keys and other items had been taken from their vehicle. Nearby cameras were checked but nothing incriminating was captured.
7/5 A large dog found its way onto the roof of a business on Water Avenue in the City of Hillsboro. Callers were concerned about the dog jumping and getting injured. An AC unit was removed from a window to allow the dog back inside the apartment it came from. Contact with the landlord was attempted.
7/7 A deputy initiated a traffic stop on State Highway 35 which came to a rest in the Village of Stoddard. A motorcyclist received citations for 92 mph in a 55 mph zone and for a motorcycle permit violation.
7/7 A theft was reported at a business on North Main Street. A male was seen taking items from a bike rack and surveillance video from the business showed him taking a backpack the night prior. A sheriff’s deputy and Viroqua Police responded; the male was found with the stolen items and arrested.
7/7 Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance on North Bird Street in the Village of La Farge.
7/10 A business called to report a suspicious male loitering after closing time. A deputy located the male who initially provided false identifying information. He was subsequently arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine, THC, and Paraphernalia, as well as 2 counts of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
7/10 A theft was reported at a residence on East Lakeview Drive in the Village of La Farge. Money, checks, and other items were taken from an unlocked vehicle. Neighbors in the immediate area didn’t note anything suspicious. Investigation is ongoing.
7/11 Deputies assisted Kickapoo Valley Reserve Police with the search for a young female who had been reported missing on the Kickapoo River in the Town of Whitestown. A drone was utilized to assist in the search. The female was found a short time later. No injuries were reported.
7/11 A sheriff’s deputy assisted Crawford County Sheriff’s Office at a business on Store Road after a fight broke out. A male reported a possible broken ankle. Crawford County detained the suspect.
7/11 A caller reported seeing a female laying on the ground on Main Street in the Village of De Soto. The female admitted to the caller that she had been drinking. A deputy arrived and transported the female to her residence.
