1/18 A deputy was dispatched to the Village of De Soto to investigate complaints of a loose, black labrador running at large and biting people near Steele Street. Ongoing issue since summer when the dog may have also been seen with a large, white dog near American Heritage Drive. Investigation is ongoing.
1/19 A driver called to report a crash with a deer near County Road ZZ and Hanson Road in the Town of Whitestown. Wade Kubina, Mt. Horeb, WI struck the deer with the rear tire which broke its legs, requiring it to be dispatched by the deputy. Driver reported no injuries and the vehicle was still operational.
1/19 Deputies responded to a residence on Mickelson Drive in the Town of Christiana regarding a protection order violation.
1/19 A deputy stopped to check on an open door seen at a business on Cottage Street in the Village of Stoddard. After a walkthrough and finding the building clear, the door was secured.
1/20 A traffic stop was initiated in the 1300 block of Main Street in the City of Viroqua by Viroqua Police and a sheriff’s deputy. During the stop a K9 was deployed and gave a positive indication on the vehicle. Drug paraphernalia was confiscated and the driver was cited for Operating After Revocation -1st due to OWI/PAC, and Possession of THC.
1/21 Sheriff’s dispatch was notified that a motorist struck a truck and flatbed trailer that was stuck in the road near the 5800 block of Jore Road in the Town of Coon. No injuries were reported but the road was blocked. Vehicles were towed from the scene and a township plow was requested.
1/22 A citizen called to report a possible altercation at a business on South Main Street in the Village of Stoddard. On arrival deputies found the business closed and the issue unfounded.
1/22 A passerby reported a single car rollover crash on US Highway 14 near Springville Road in the Town of Viroqua. It appeared the car slid off the road, flipped, and was found on
its hood. No occupants found at the scene. Deputies made contact with the driver, Mitchell Hale, Sparta who stated he had a friend pick him up from the scene due to the cold. No injuries were reported.
1/23 Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance on Oak Knoll Drive in the Town of Viroqua resulting in one arrest.
1/24 Sheriff’s deputies and an officer from the Kickapoo Valley Reserve responded to a residence on North Church Street in the Village of Ontario for a domestic disturbance. One arrest was made.
