2/2 A deputy initiated a traffic stop near State Highway 35 and Gelf Road in the Town of Wheatland. The driver was cited with a speeding violation of 85mph in a 55mph zone.
2/2 A driver called to report they were involved in a car versus deer collision on State Highway 56 near Lewison Road in the Town of Viroqua. The driver reported their car was still functional and they sustained no injuries. The deer died as a result of the collision.
2/3 A deputy stopped a vehicle on US Highway 14 near Vang Road in the Town of Coon for speeding. A citation was issued to the driver for speeding 86mph in a 55mph zone.
2/3 Dispatch was notified of some black angus in the ditch along West Main Street in La Farge near Kickapoo Bridge 20. The owners were contacted and came to fix the fence and secure the animals.
2/3 Dispatch received a call reporting a buggy was found off the road and down a steep ditch near the 500 block of Little Ridge Road in the Town of Whitestown. Deputies responded and found no horse or occupants at the scene. The driver of the buggy was later found and reported they’d lost control of the horse. No injuries were reported.
2/4 A deputy initiated a traffic stop on the 700 block of US Highway 61 in the Village of Readstown for a speeding driver. Radar indicated the driver was travelling 72mph in a 55mph zone. The driver was cited for speeding.
2/5 Dispatch was notified of a car versus deer collision on State Highway 56 about a mile west of County Road S in the Town of Liberty. The driver reported airbag deployment but no injuries. The westbound lane was closed for a short time while the vehicle was towed and the road cleared of debris.
2/6 A deputy was dispatched to Dutch Hollow Road in the Town of Whitetown where a driver had some mechanical issues with their truck. When the driver got out to check the truck, it rolled down the hill and wrapped around a tree. The truck was towed from the scene.
2/6 Deputies responded to an apartment on Bothne Drive in the Village of Coon Valley where two female parties were involved in a physical altercation. When deputies arrived one female party had already taken their belongings and left the scene.
2/8 Dispatch received a call from a driver who had gone into the ditch on State Highway 162 near Ernies Lane in the Town of Hamburg. The driver reported no injuries but struck some road signs as they went off the road. The town and Highway Department were notified of the downed signs.
