2/1 A deputy responded to a call regarding a vehicle that had been taken from a residence on County Road SS and driven without the owner’s consent and returned with damage. The matter is under investigation.
2/2 A deputy along with Stoddard Fire Department and First Responders responded to a two vehicle accident in the Village of Stoddard. A vehicle operated by Alexander Wintheiser, of La Crosse, WI, deviated from its lane and struck an unoccupied pickup that was parked on North Main Street. The accident caused partial lane blockage. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. No injuries were reported.
2/3 A deputy responded to the report of an injured deer along the side of the road in the Town of Kickapoo. No striking vehicle was on scene. The deer was dispatched.
2/3 Dispatch received a call regarding a school van transporting students that became stuck in the ditch. A deputy responded to the scene and the van had already been pulled from the ditch. No injuries were reported.
2/4 A motorist called the Sheriff’s Office to report that a vehicle had passed them in a no-passing zone at a very high rate of speed on State Highway 82 near Canyon Road. Plates were provided and the registered owner of the vehicle was identified. A deputy was dispatched to make contact with the driver.
2/5 Dispatch was notified about beef cattle out near County Road N in the Town of Sterling. The owner of the cattle was contacted and stated a family member was on their way to get the cows returned to their proper location.
2/6 The Sheriff’s Office received a report from the Norwalk Ontario Wilton School District about a vehicle that failed to stop for a bus with its stop signal arm displayed. The driver was identified and informed they would be receiving a citation in the mail for failure to stop for a school bus.
2/6 A deputy responded to a residence on North Silver Street in the Village of La Farge to investigate a report of threats made.
2/7 Dispatch received a call regarding disorderly conduct in which two individuals were arguing in a vehicle. Contact was made and the parties were separated.
2/7 A resident on Ellefson Road in the Town of Viroqua called to report suspicious activity after finding an unknown male looking around their property. Deputies spoke with both parties and no immediate concerns were noted.
