Vernon County Sheriff’s Report for the week ending Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025

 2/9       A deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle deviating from their lane near State Highway 131 and Main Street in the Village of La Farge. The driver was arrested for Operating While Under the Influence – 4^th offense and taken to the Vernon County Detention Center.

2/10     A pickup was observed performing donuts in the Stoddard Village Park and crossing the center line of State Highway 162 as it began to drive out of town. A deputy attempted to stop the truck, but it would not pull over and a pursuit ensued. It was suspected that the occupants were juveniles and the pursuit was terminated. The driver was later found and arrested for Vehicle Operator Flee/Elude Officer, Reckless Driving-Endanger Safety.

2/11     Dispatched received a call for a deputy to respond to a residence on Lafollette Street in Coon Valley. A male party was charged with Disorderly Conduct after punching another male in the face.

2/12     A deputy initiated a traffic stop in the 6000 block of US Highway 14 in the Town of Coon. A traffic citation was issued to a driver for traveling 76MPH in a 55MPH zone.

2/12     A deputy was conducting traffic enforcement on US Highway 61 south of Readstown. A vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed and radar indicated the driver was travelling at 78MPH in the 55MPH zone. A citation for speeding was issued.

2/13     Deputies were called to a residence on Avalanche Road in the Town of Webster for a disorderly female who had been asked to leave. Charges of Disorderly Conduct- Domestic Related were referred to the District Attorney. The female also had an active child support warrant from Vernon County. The female party was transported to the Vernon County Detention Center where a probation hold was also placed.

2/14     Dispatch received a report of a car that was all over the road near the 3300 block of US Highway 14 in the Town of Hamburg. Deputies were dispatched and were able to identify the vehicle in question and a stop was initiated. The driver received a citation for speeding 16-19MPH over the limit.
