8/23 Deputies responded to a residence on South 3rd Street in the Village of Readstown for a report of burglary in progress. On arrival deputies found no evidence of burglary and determined the caller needed other assistance. They were able to connect the caller with those resources.
8/24 A sheriff’s deputy responded to a residence on Thompson Road in the Town of Franklin to make contact with a male with an active warrant for being in violation of terms of his probation. It was determined the male’s electronic monitoring device was dead. The male complied with law enforcement and the Department of Corrections was notified and the issue was resolved.
8/24 The Town of Hillsboro reported the theft of street signs at Lover’s Lane and County Road WW. This is the second occurrence of sign theft in a span of about 10 days at the same location. Investigation is ongoing.
8/25 A male presented himself to the Sheriff’s Office and Detention Center for an out-of-county warrant for Failure to Appear. He was turned over to correctional staff, booked into the Detention Center, and later transported to Waushara County.
8/26 A deputy initiated a traffic stop on a truck belonging to a male with a revoked license. Once pulled over, the driver attempted walking away into a local business but the deputy stopped the male and observed signs of intoxication. The male was arrested for Operating While Under the Influence – 5th or 6th Offense, Operating After Revocation – due to OWI/PAC, and Ignition Interlock Device Tampering.
8/26 Deputies and Viroqua officers responded to a residence on Brookville Road in the Town of Franklin for a reported battery.
8/27 A sheriff’s deputy and Westby officer made contact with a male at a residence on Syverson Drive in the City of Westby with an active warrant for Failure to Appear for Misdemeanor Bail Jumping, Possession of Methamphetamine, THC, and other Drug Paraphernalia. He was transported to the Sheriff Office Detention Center.
8/28 A business on South 4th Street in the Village of Readstown called to report a theft. Investigation is ongoing.
8/28 A traffic stop was initiated on West Commercial Street in the Village of Viola. A sheriff’s deputy and Viola police made contact with a male on bond out of La Crosse County with a driving restriction. The male was arrested for Misdemeanor Bail Jumping and Operating After Revocation.
8/29 A homeowner called to report a neighbor yelling and screaming outside their residence on Spring Coulee Road in the Town of Coon. Deputies made contact with a female who was arrested for Misdemeanor Bail Jumping and 2 counts of Disorderly Conduct.
