8/17 A deputy assisted at a residence on Morning Star Road in the Town of Union with a report of a large herd of sheep damaging crops in a field.
8/17 Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway called to report trespassing in the Village of Genoa. Three individuals were seen fishing from the tracks near Water Street but were gone on a deputy’s arrival.
8/18 Dispatch received a traffic complaint of a motorist nearly hitting a gas pump in the Village of Readstown and otherwise driving oddly. Sheriff deputies and Viroqua Police located the vehicle on US Highway 14 and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. Law enforcement were finally able to get the vehicle stopped outside the south end of Viroqua where it was determined the driver was experiencing a medical event. They were transported for medical attention.
8/18 A passerby called to report a possible car vs horse drawn buggy crash along State Highway 80 near the intersection of Staley School Road in the Town of Greenwood. A buggy was Law enforcement observed a male walking on the road leading a horse. The male advised both he and a vehicle were travelling eastbound when his horse became spooked and fully entered the roadway. The male had no name for the driver but described the vehicle as brown with damage to the rear passenger side. The buggy was equipped with a slow-moving vehicle sign as well as flashing lights. No apparent injuries were reported. Investigation is ongoing.
8/18 A resident at an apartment complex on GoMacro Way in the Village of Viola called to report that a group of teens were disturbing residents and tampering with apartment doors. A deputy located the group of teens on bikes near the reported area. The teens admitted to pressing door bells and stated they would stop.
8/20 Dispatch received a report of disorderly conduct in progress at a public meeting in the Village of Readstown. Witnesses state a male arrived and began yelling and being unruly. The suspect was gone on law enforcement arrival.
8/21 A business on Riley Road in the Town of Kickapoo reported a possible burglary. It appeared their trucks and trailers were tampered with, and glove boxes had been gone through.
8/21 Deputies responded to Spring Coulee Road in the Town of Coon for a report of gun shots. A female individual was taken into custody for Operating a Firearm While Intoxicated.
8/22 Sheriff’s deputies along with Westby and Viroqua Police responded to a domestic incident on Monroe Street in the City of Westby. A male was arrested for Domestic Battery-Simple Assault and Disorderly Conduct.
