3/29 A deputy responded to a property on County Road P in the Town of Christiana for a trespassing complaint of a juvenile operating a UTV through their property.
3/29 A resident on Orchard Road in the Town of Viroqua called to report someone had driven their vehicle through the yard circling the home multiple times, and then left an outside water spigot running. The resident gave a description of the suspect vehicle which deputies were familiar with. An attempt was made to locate the vehicle but deputies were unable to make contact. The suspect was later found in the custody West Salem/Onalaska Police Departments and the suspect was transported back to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center and processed for Disorderly Conduct and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
3/30 A business owner in the Town of Jefferson called to report what they believed was intentional damage by an employee to one of their semi’s that occurred in Monroe County. It appeared an oil filter had been intentionally punctured in an attempt to cause engine failure. Investigation is ongoing.
3/30 A deputy initiated a traffic stop on South 4th Street in the Village of Readstown on a vehicle that had no front plate and a burnt-out headlamp. After further investigation, THC gummies and prescription pills not belonging to the driver were located in the console. The items were confiscated and the driver’s probation agent was notified of the stop.
3/31 Deputies arrived at a residence on Morning Star Road in the Town of Union for a warrant service. Two individuals were taken into custody. One female was arrested for multiple counts of Theft of Moveable Property <=$2500, Forgery, Forgery-Uttering, Felony Bail Jumping, Misdemeanor Bail Jumping, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Receiving Stolen Property. A male was arrested for Escape Civil Arrest/Body Execution, Resisting or Obstructing Officer, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Forgery, Forgery Uttering, Theft of Moveable Property <=$2500, as well as a child support warrant through Richland County. Both were transported to the Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
4/3 Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence on West Smith Road in the Town of Viroqua. A Be On the Lookout (BOLO) was issued for a male with pending charges of Domestic Battery and Domestic Disorderly Conduct. A few days later the male arrived at the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office and he was then taken into custody.
4/3 A sheriff’s deputy and an officer with the Viroqua Police Department responded to a residence on North Harrison Hollow Road for a domestic disturbance. A male was taken into custody and transported to the Sheriff’s Office Detention Center and processed for Disorderly Conduct-Simple Assault.
The Sheriff’s 911 Dispatch fielded over 40 calls for weather related road hazards and downed power lines from April 2 – April 4.
