Vernon County Sheriff’s Report for the week ending Saturday, April 19, 2025

4/13     Vernon County Deputies along with Westby Police Officers responded to an apartment on South Main Street in the City of Westby for a noise complaint. A neighbor reported a recent eviction, but that the tenants were still there causing a disturbance. On arrival, no disturbance was noted.

4/14     Deputies responded to a residence on County Road UU in the Town of Wheatland for a domestic disturbance. Parties were separated.

4/15     A traffic stop was initiated near the intersection of State Highway 56 and 82 in the Town of Viroqua for a speeding vehicle. The driver was cited for driving 75MPH in a 55MPH zone.

4/15     Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance that became physical at a residence on Lincoln Street in the Village of Ontario. Parties were separated.

4/16     A traffic stop was initiated at a wayside on State Highway 35 in the Town of Bergen. The driver received warnings for speed and operating outside the timeframe of an occupational license.

4/16     A traffic stop was initiated near 9660 State Highway 35 in the Village of De Soto. The driver had an active warrant and was taken into custody for Failure to Pay and transported to the Vernon County Detention Center.

4/17     Deputies responded to Jefferson Street in the City of Viroqua to assist a driver in unlocking their vehicle.

4/17     Dispatch was notified by a driver that they had rolled their vehicle on Old Line Road in the Town of Coon. Deputies responded and assisted the driver until the vehicle was towed. The driver reported no injuries.

 4/18    Deputies responded to a business on Jack Berg Lane in the Village of Coon Valley for a burglar alarm. It was determined that an employee had inadvertently set off the alarm.

4/19     Dispatch received a complaint about a possible impaired driver operating on State Highway 35 in the Town of Bergen. A deputy was able to locate the vehicle though no signs of intoxication or impairment were observed.
