4/6 A resident called to report a vehicle struck their and a neighbor’s mailbox on Finley Road in the Town of Franklin and left a license plate at the scene. Investigation is ongoing.
4/7 Sheriff’s 911 dispatch received a complaint of a truck swerving all over the road, speeding and throwing things at other vehicles. A description and plate of the truck was provided to dispatch and was found and a traffic stop was initiated on Snow Street in the Village of La Farge. The juvenile driver was operating under a Graduated Driver License program and was cited.
4/8 A citizen called to report an injured deer near US Highway 14 and County Road SS in the Town of Viroqua. The deer appeared to have been struck by a vehicle and had wandered into the field where it was found. A deputy was sent to dispatch the animal.
4/8 A large, fluffy yellow dog was found near the intersection of County Road D and E. Bloomingdale Road in the in the Town of Clinton. The dog had no identification and the citizen was unable to locate an owner near where the dog was found. The dog was transported into La Farge and an attempt was made to contact a local police officer. A sheriff’s deputy was instead dispatched and made contact with the township who approved transport of the animal to the humane society.
4/8 A deputy was notified of a call regarding two dead calves near the roadway between Moore and Bickle Road in the Town of Stark. It was reported they had been seen there for approximately a week and had yet to be taken care of. Contact was made with the owner who said the calves died during the winter and had been stuck in the snow. The owner was given 24 hours to ensure they were disposed of properly.
4/8 Deputies were notified of a missing, vulnerable adult female near County Road D in the Town of Clinton. A search was initiated and the female was located sometime later on the property with minor injuries.
4/8 Deputies were dispatched for a domestic disturbance at a residence on Newton Road in the Town of Harmony. A male was taken into custody and transported to the Sheriff’s Office Detention Center and processed for Domestic Disorderly Conduct-Simple Assault, Battery, Strangulation and Suffocation, and Felon in Possession of Firearm. The male was released after posting $10,000.00 bond.
4/9 A property owner on Melby Lane in the Town of Viroqua called to report they’d found a pelican bleeding from its feet in their field, possibly from walking on sharp corn stalks.
4/11 A caller reported seeing someone running around the Mound Park Trailer Court in the Village of Viola wearing a long coat and carrying a rifle that they were pointing at trailers. They reported two younger children and a teenage boy. The area was searched but no one matching the description was located.
