Vernon County Sheriff’s Office taking part in DOJ prescription drug takeback day April 27

VIROQUA, Wis. – The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office in cooperation with the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), will participate in
National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 27 from 10:00 a.m.
until 2:00 p.m., at two locations, the Village Hall in Stoddard, 180 N. Main Street,
and the Village Hall in Readstown, 116 N. 4th Street.

Sheriff Roy Torgerson urges the public to participate in this very important day, to help
our communities be safer and to come together against the fight against drug abuse.

“Cleaning out your medicine cabinet to get rid of unused and unwanted medications can
help with the fight against the opioid epidemic,” said Attorney General Josh Kaul.
“Please take your unneeded medications to a Drug Take Back Day event near you.”

This effort will continue to bring focus to the issue of prescription medication or drug
abuse in Wisconsin. Drug Take Back Day provides a safe, convenient, and responsible
means of disposal, while also educating the community about the potential abuse and
consequences of improper storage and disposal of these medications. Find your nearest
drug disposal location: www.doseofrealitywi.gov
