Vernon County Sheriff’s Office summary of weather-related incidents for March 19, 2025.

The Sheriff’s Office 911 Dispatch Center answered 32 9-1-1 calls and 107 regular telephone calls within about a 5-hour period (2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.). Although you will not see 139 events listed in the summary below, all calls must be answered and fielded appropriately. Typically, the Sheriff’s Office 911 Dispatch Center will receive several calls concerning the same incident, especially on a busy road.

March 19, 2025 – 23 Disabled Vehicle calls received from 11:27 AM to 9:21 PM

  1. Vehicle slide off – State Highway 35 – 1114 Block
  2. Vehicle left on the side of road, will get in the morning – Weber Road
  3. Vehicle stuck – needs a tow – Nelson Street at the Elementary School
  4. Vehicle stuck and partially blocking the roadway and driveway – Chipmunk
    Ridge Road
  5. Vehicle stuck – needs to be towed – Brinkman Ridge Road
  6. Vehicle in the ditch – County Road K – S1594
  7. Vehicle on the side of the road and needs to be towed – State Highway 35 –
    N1220
  8. Unable to drive – parked vehicle on a dead-end road – Davenport
    Road/Bolstad Avenue
  9. Vehicle in the ditch – State Highway 162/County Road KK
  10. Vehicle stuck in roadway – no damage – Hoff Lane/Valley View Estates Lane
  11. Vehicle needs wrecker – Volden Road
  12. Vehicle stuck in the ditch – State Highway 162
  13. Military vehicles and semis stuck. Six big vehicles – State Highway 27 – 6076
    Block
  14. Semi stuck – wrecker needed – State Highway 82 – 15664 Block
  15. Vehicle stuck and was pulled out – US Highway 14 – 5410 Block
  16. Vehicle stuck on the side of the road – State Highway 131
  17. Vehicle stuck on the road and cannot go forward or backward – County Road

  18. Semi stuck in roadway – State Highway 27 – S6320
  19. Semi spun out and cannot make it up the hill – State Highway 27 – 5830 Block
  20. Two vehicles stuck on the hill – State Highway 33 – 600 Block
  21. Semi cannot make it up the hill – State Highway 82 – E10214
  22. Semi jackknifed in the road – US Highway 14 – 3746 Block

  27. Vehicle spun out and blocking eastbound lane – US Highway 14/Vang Road
  28. Vehicle stuck in the ditch – US Highway – 7306 Block
  29. Vehicle off the road, no injuries – State Highway 56
  30. Two vehicle accident, no injuries except chest pain – State Highway 80
  31. Vehicle rolled over, lying on its roof – Quarry Road
  32. Vehicle hit the guardrail – US Highway 14
  33. School bus and Township truck stuck across the roadway – Hickory Ridge
    Road
  34. Vehicle slid off the road and needs a wrecker – Dutch Hollow Road
  35. Vehicle spun out and went in the ditch because another driver speed by them
    – US Highway 14/Springville Road
  36. Vehicle went in the ditch – State Highway 35
  37. Vehicle slid off the road – County Road B
  38. Vehicle hit a guardrail – County Road K
  39. Vehicle slid off the road and crashed into the ditch – Hohlfeld Road

  41. Vehicle crashed into trees – State Highway35
