UPDATE: Vernon County Sheriff’s Office says driver located after fleeing accident scene on foot

LA FARGE, Wis. – Sheriff Roy Torgerson reports that his office has located a driver suspected of leaving the scene of accident earlier today. The Sheriff reports that at 12:49 p.m., the suspect was located and upon further investigation, was taken into custody at 1:55 p.m.

The suspect was identified as Tyler J. Hill, 24, of Bruce, Wis.. Hill will be booked on a traffic-related offense(s). The Sheriff’s Office says formal charges will be sought through Vernon County District Attorney Timothy J. Gaskell. The incident remains under investigation. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the La Farge Police Department.

LA FARGE, Wis. – The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to be on the lookout the driver of a vehilce who fled the scene of the accident on foot in the Hillsboro/ La Farge area.

The Sheriff’s Office says on Wednesday, July 12th, at 11:23 a.m., deputies responded to a hit and run near accident near “White City,” between the city of Hillsboro and village of La Farge. No injuries were reported; however, there was property damage to a vehicle(s) and possibly a utility pole. The suspect vehicle was located by the La Farge Police Chief near the intersection of State Highway 82 and Bickel Road, east of La Farge.

A male was last seen running into a wooded area, to the north of Highway 82. Sheriff Torgerson says there is no information to indicate the community is in any danger, however, residents in that area should remain alert and contact the Sheriff’s Office to report any suspicious activity.
